This convenient AI-powered plant scanner can easily detect plants and provide you with a comprehensive description online. PlantSnap is a marvelous botanic app that’s supplied with a huge database of plants, including domestic and wildflowers, trees, seaweed, mushrooms, succulents, and cactuses. Here you will find both folk and scientific names of every plant, everything about their natural and handmade habitats, high-resolution photos, and many more exciting facts. The camera module is powered with a responsive AI algorithm that can detect the traits of the plant on the photo and compare them with the worldwide database of plants. You will get a result almost instantly. Every plant card includes such data as Kingdom, Class, Order, Family, Habitat, Locations, and quality photographs made by professional photographers, specially for the app. If you don’t have any unknown plants around you, go to the Explore tab to browse the open knowledge base of the PlantSnap app. The current database includes over 585 000 designations. Moreover, developers add around 2000 new names every month!

This app is very logical, which makes navigation intuitive. You can utilize the app for learning about the plants around and for contributing to the database. Add a description of a plant, if you can’t find it on the app, but can tell something exciting about it.

PlantSnap has a minimalistic interface that helps you stay focused on the information, while the navigation bar at the bottom ensures fast navigation between the sections. The Collection tab stores all your scans and manually crafted plant cards. The Explore section lets you view plants on the Google-powered world map. The Snap button in the middle is for scanning plants with your camera, and the inbox is temporary storage for scanning results.
Pricing – 10/10
The database of PlantSnap is totally free to use. It doesn’t include any in-app purchases, so developers monetize it with minor advertisements. They’re not too annoying and appear only a few times in 30 minutes. The ad-free version costs $2,99/month or $19,99/year.
