The recent launch of the open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds on Steam has sparked considerable enthusiasm among gamers, attracting an impressive number of participants. Although some graphical glitches have been reported, the game's overall reception points to a promising future.

The beta initially opened exclusively for PS Plus members on the PS5 and has since expanded to include players on the Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms. Prior to its official opening, early estimates showed significant interest with over 23,000 users participating. This number skyrocketed to a peak of 463,798 concurrent players according to SteamDB, a figure that could increase over the weekend as more players from different time zones join in.

Attempts to restore textures through file verification and reinstallation have had limited success, and while adjusting graphics settings to maximum has helped somewhat, it is not a definitive solution. Some have found that reinstalling drivers offers a temporary fix, but the problems often return after restarting the game.

As the beta continues, it is hoped that these issues will be addressed before the official launch. Drawing parallels to previous experiences with Monster Hunter World, diving into Monster Hunter Wilds feels like trying on a new pair of shoes: initially thrilling yet requiring some time to break in comfortably.
