Maximize your Chat Efficiency with WhatsApp's new Custom List Feature
2024-11-06

WhatsApp has recently unveiled a feature that allows users to mark certain groups and individual chats as favorites for easy access. This feature is accessible from the chat filters bar, where it sits alongside other categories like unread messages, groups, and all chats. Following this update, WhatsApp has introduced the Custom Lists feature, which lets users create and tailor personalized contact lists to enhance and streamline communication. These lists can accommodate both group and individual chats, extending the functionality of the favorites feature.
WhatsApp has announced that this new custom list feature will roll out globally and should reach all users in the coming weeks. It enables users to organize their contacts into specific categories such as family, work, and neighborhood, including both group and individual chats.
To create a list, users need to tap the "+" icon in the filter tab, name their list, and add as many groups or contacts as desired. These custom lists will appear alongside existing filters like All, Unread, and Groups in the app.
This update is designed to help users more effectively manage their chats and interactions on WhatsApp. Lists can be modified at any time by long-pressing the list name in the filter bar.
Moreover, WhatsApp is reportedly developing a stickers feature. According to a feature tracker, the app is testing the ability for users to create their own sticker packs, with options to add stickers to a pack, favorite them, or edit them. Additionally, the Meta-owned platform is exploring Snapchat-like camera effects, such as filters and backgrounds, which users can control through the app's Privacy settings.
